Your health is connected, so we figure healthcare should be too. With Bupa health insurance, there’s benefits for all the family. It covers all, or some, treatment costs for:

You’ll pay annually or monthly for your insurance. You and anyone on your policy then has quick access to medical treatment.
This offer applies to eligible ICAS members on quotes for new Bupa By You policies.
Our discounts will be reviewed on the 21 January 2027 and any changes will then apply to renewals and new quotes taken out after that date. Our quotes are valid for 14 days. Terms and conditions apply.

We'll cover you for acute conditions after your policy starts. This covers disease, injury or illness that will likely respond quickly to treatment. Pre-existing conditions may not be covered.
Where we treat you may depend on the type of treatment you need and where you live. You may be treated in a private hospital, health centre or private section of an NHS hospital. This will all depend on if your treatment is eligible, is fee assured and there's a hospital within your chosen network.
Some things aren't covered as standard in our health insurance policies. For example, most policies don't cover emergency treatment, maternity care or pre-existing conditions.
Though we don't cover pre-existing conditions, we can still support you. You can chat to a nurse any time of day or night on the Anytime HealthLine. Or, speak to a doctor with a virtual or face-to-face appointment.
More information about exclusions can be found in the Bupa By You policy guide (PDF, 0.5MB).
We offer two different types of health insurance cover to give you more choice. You can choose from either:
- Comprehensive cover - includes both private diagnosis and treatmens
- Treatment and Care cover - offers private treatment following a private self-paid or NHS diagnosis
To find out which cover is best for you, you can compare health insurance.
† As of March 2026, this comparison to other products in the market is based on Bupa's and Defaqto's interpretation of the differences between Bupa's Bupa By You, SME Select and Corporate Select health insurance products and other health insurance products offering mental health cover.
