Dental Confidence

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, David Leigh Van As graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiology (1986) and a BChD in Dentistry (1991) from the University of Stellenbosch.

David emigrated to the United Kingdom in 2004. His keen interest in oral surgery and oral medicine saw him complete an MSc in Oral Surgery from the University of Central Lancashire in 2013, followed by an MSc in Periodontology (Distinction) in 2016 from the International Medical College in Germany.

David has subsequently completed an MClinDent Periodontology (Distinction) at the College of Medicine and Dentistry in Birmingham, where he now teaches at postgraduate level. He also recently completed an MSc Craniofacial Trauma Reconstruction degree (Distinction) at the Queen Mary’s University of London.

David is a GDC-registered specialist in periodontics and holds membership with the British Dental Association and British Society of Periodontology.
