Bupa's Sanitas Group acquires Euroresidencias to become second largest care service provider in Spain

Sanitas Residencial, Bupa Group’s Spanish care home provider, has bought the Euroresidencias’ care home and day centre portfolio from the Spanish company Saarema Inversiones.
The deal sees Sanitas Residencial become Spain’s second largest provider of long-term care with nearly 5,500 beds in 43 existing and planned homes.
Euroresidencias’ 12 homes are in Madrid, Zaragoza, Linares (Jaén), Alicante, Vigo, La Coruña, Santander and Barcelona. Four new homes are also in the process of being built in Madrid, Barcelona and Tarragona. The homes offer a comprehensive range of facilities for residents including for those with special physical and mental health needs.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dean Holden, Managing Director Bupa International, said: "The acquisition of Euroresidencias by the Sanitas Group gives us new opportunities to expand the range of high-class care services that Sanitas Residencial offers throughout Spain. It reflects the commitment of the Sanitas Group and Bupa to increasing our presence in the care services sector in Spain."
