Residents praise outstanding care at local home
30 March 2007
Trowbridge Oaks Residential and Nursing Home in Wiltshire has been given a seal of approval by residents.
The home has received a 95 percent overall satisfaction score from residents who were asked to judge the home on the staff, the buildings and grounds, their room, being treated as an individual, communal rooms, the food and their activities.
The final results show that patients are very happy with the service they received from Bupa, and when it comes to staff and being treated as an individual, 100 percent of them describe the service they received as excellent or very good.
All residents at Bupa care homes are asked to fill in a questionnaire each year, which allows them to feedback about all aspects of their care.
Keeley Simpson, care home manager said: "Everyone is just delighted with this result. We all do our best day in and day out to ensure that our residents are happy and this is the icing on the cake. I want to thank all my hard working staff whose dedication and commitment has been recognised."
Resident’s views are just one of the things to take into consideration when choosing a care home. So Bupa Care Homes has produced a checklist to help relatives choose the perfect place for their loved ones. To get a copy of the checklist call 01225 774 492.
This satisfaction score follows on from Bupa Care Homes Personal Best programme winning the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development annual People Management Award last year. The initiative encouraged all the staff in its 296 homes to understand the needs of each resident and helps care assistants to develop the skills they need to offer personalised care that is tailored to the individual.
