Bupa Individual Protection lowers life rates
27 February 2006
Bupa Individual Protection has revised its rates for its level and decreasing term assurance plans. The specialist individual protection arm of Bupa is reducing its premiums on average by 14 percent for level term and 10 percent for decreasing term assurance.
For a male non-smoker age 25, level term assurance for £100,000 over 25 years, the revised monthly premium is £8.87 giving a saving of £1.19 per month.
For a joint life first death policy over 25 years, level term assurance for £100,000 where both lives are aged 40, the new monthly premium is £23.22, a saving of £9.09 per month.
Commenting on the revisions, Steve Casey, product manager at Bupa Individual Protection said: "We were delighted with the increase in business sales last year especially against a landscape of an overall drop in protection sales. As a result of business efficiencies enacted last year we are able to pass these savings on to the market in the form of rate reductions. As part of our strategy to assist IFAs in closing the protection gap, we aim to offer value for money products that meet the needs of individuals and their families."
