Sealed with a kiss - the way to feel better

A loved-one's kiss makes everything feel better. Whether it's a mother's kiss for her child or a kiss of affection between an older couple, the sense of well-being you feel from knowing that someone cares is universal. Now the association between a peck on the cheek and feeling better has been adapted for a new advertising campaign by health and care company Bupa.

Launched on Monday 24 January, the campaign suggests that people 'feel better with Bupa'. The campaign features TV, radio and press advertising with the message that Bupa helps people feel more confident and optimistic about their healthcare, because it is dedicated to their well-being.

Eileen Folan, Bupa's brand and planning director said: "'Feel better' is a clear expression of Bupa's vision of 'taking care of the lives in our hands'. The campaign has been designed to show that, as a dedicated health and care company, Bupa is able to bring people peace of mind about their healthcare.

"The TV adverts show how a loved-one's kiss makes everything feel better - in the same way a mother's kiss did when we were young. They feature a young girl who has hurt herself. When her mother kisses her she enters the world of Bupa where everyone feels better because they feel cared for."

Eileen continued: "The distinctive music used throughout the advert was written and performed by duo David and Roselyn, street musicians from New Orleans. David and Roselyn have been travelling the world performing their special blend of folk and blues for nearly 50 years. It was quite a challenge to track them down, but it was worth it in the end as the unique track - 'Kiss it and make it better' - ideally conveys the positive, optimistic message of the Bupa brand. Once you've heard it, you find yourself humming it all day."

People from the TV adverts will also feature in a range of press adverts highlighting the specific benefits of Bupa healthcare, such as prompt treatment and results, quality of care, and a clean, comfortable environment in which to feel better.
