IHI launches unlimited medical cover on travel Insurance18 December 2007For the first time, anyone taking out travel insurance with international health insurer, IHI Danmark, will have complete peace of mind knowing that they will receive unlimited medical cover through their policy. This means that from 1 January 2008 IHI policyholders will be safe in the knowledge that their medical expenses and medical evacuation will be covered in full. Eva Nittegaard, sales and service manager for IHI Travel Insurance, said: “It’s essential that people know what they are covered for when they buy their travel insurance, especially where their health is concerned. “By taking out a policy with unlimited cover there are no grey areas and no nasty surprises when you come to claim – we will cover it all. IHI now has one of the most comprehensive travel insurance products on the market.” A policy with IHI Travel Insurance will also give travellers access to IHI’s own multi-lingual Emergency Service which is at their disposal 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world. When adequate medical treatment is not available locally, IHI will arrange for medical evacuation or repatriation. When the transportation requires an accompanying doctor or nurse that will be taken care of too. IHI medical specialists range from professors to general practitioners and among their specialities are aviation medicine, telemedicine and tropical diseases. The doctors are also at a person’s disposal if they need medical advice while travelling or of they are just interested in a second opinion. IHI provide two types of travel insurance. There is IHI Annual Travel which covers all year round with trips lasting up to a month. Then, there is IHI Single Trip which covers one single trip for as long as you wish, but not exceeding 12 months. The advantages of IHI travel insurance include full cover with no deductible, direct payment of all hospital bills, access to IHI’s medical consultants, free choice of doctors and hospitals, no restriction on hazardous sports or occupations (except motorsports) and free cover for children under the age of two.
