Bupa International announces sponsorship of Sussex County Cricket Club
18 January 2006
Bupa International is proud to announce that it is sponsoring Sussex County Cricket Club, for the 2006 season.
The Brighton-based business is looking forward to supporting its local cricket team, and to seeing the team build on its excellent performance during 2005.
International marketing manager Karen Froude said: “As a major local employer in Sussex we are proud to support our local cricket team. It is a highly successful team and we look forward to following their progress throughout 2006.
“This sponsorship fits well with Bupa International as we are a company that promotes a healthy lifestyle. As cricket provided the sporting highlight of 2005 in England, this will hopefully encourage more people to watch and play next summer.”
With cricket riding high in the UK following England’s Ashes victory over Australia in the summer, Bupa International expects that cricket will continue to enjoy the increasingly high-profile it deserves.
The international appeal of the club, which finished third in England’s top division last season, is helped by two players, Mushtaq Ahmed and Naved-Ul-Hasan, coming from Pakistan.
Fans will notice Bupa International advertising boards during home games at the club’s ground in Hove. There will also be announcements at matches and the company’s name will featured in fixture programmes and Sussex’s website.
In addition to branding opportunities, Bupa’s sponsorship also enables the company to take advantage of four executive membership passes for all games, corporate hospitality for up to 40 guests over the season and complimentary use of club facilities for functions and meetings.
