Bupa Care Services expands team

Bupa Care Services is expanding its team with two new appointments. Lyth Watson as director of UK care home development and Kevin Roberts as quality and compliance director.
The two new additions to the team demonstrate Bupa Care Services’ commitment to developing its business and further improving the quality of care provided to residents.
As director of UK care home development Lyth Watson will drive forward the new-build care home programme, which is expected to add 1,400 beds to the UK portfolio by 2009, as well as expanding the business further through the acquisition of existing homes. The development programme will also ensure existing care homes are upgraded and extended to further improve the environment for residents.
Lyth has 18 years experience in commercial construction spending the last five years working in the Middle East as a construction director.
Reporting to Neil Taylor, finance and business development director, Lyth Watson commented: "I’m really looking forward to the new build work and challenging the preconceived idea of a traditional care home. It is a great opportunity for me to help move the business forward."
Kevin Roberts will be responsible for quality, risk assurance, compliance and corporate policies. In his new role as quality and compliance director Kevin will further enhance quality levels and ensure consistent care delivery across the 298 Bupa care homes.
Kevin joins Bupa with over 17 years of "blue chip" experience working in multiple, highly regulated industries including financial services, utilities and telecommunications.
Kevin Roberts explained: "The care services industry is in an environment of continuous change and increasing demands. This role provides an excellent opportunity for me to truly differentiate Bupa. My remit allows me to touch all parts of the business, from front line operations through to support functions like HR and finance to ensure that we continue to raise the quality bar across the business."
