Teddies Nurseries SHINE with award winners 12 February 2003 Winners of the first Teddies Nurseries SHINE awards have been announced, celebrating the achievements made by the Teddies group over the past 12 months. SHINE stands for 'Showing How Investment Nurtures Excellence'. The winners were nominated by a judging panel, which took into consideration comments from parents recognising staff deserving of special acknowledgement. Fifteen awards were presented ranging from best overall nursery to the most outstanding person as voted for by parents to the ready, teddy cook award for food. The awards were presented at an evening celebration in The Great Hall, Savill Court Hotel, Egham at the end of January. Carole Edmond, Teddies managing director said: "2002 was a year of intense growth that saw the group develop considerably and the awards were all very well deserved. I'd like to thank the team for their continued hard work and I look forward to a successful 2003." Teddies is set to open its 35th nursery in Knutsford, Cheshire in March - the first site to open in the north west. In addition, a further eight new Teddies Nurseries are scheduled to open this year mainly in the south of England.
